Blepharoplasty Surgery Procedure
Blepharoplasty Surgery is the most common form of cosmetic eyelid surgery, and is performed to remove excess fat and skin from around the eyelids. To achieve the best results, Blepharoplasty is most commonly combined with
browlift surgery.
Blepharoplasty is used to combat the effects of aging around the eyelids, as the sagging and drooping of mature skin begin to show their effects.
Commonly referred to as eyelid tucks,
Blepharoplasty surgery is used to remove what people perceive as the bags under their eyes, and are most frequently performed on patients in their 40’s and older. If a patient experiences sagging, or drooping of the eyes at a much younger age the Blepharoplasty can also be used, as these effects, may not always be attributed to aging.
Results vary for each individual patient and clients should be aware that their expectations should be realistic as the blepharoplasty procedure alone cannot deliver drastic results.
That being said the procedure can be very beneficial and can aid in softening the aging process allowing patients to feel more youthful and refreshed.
Blepharoplasty Surgery
During eyelid surgery incisions are made along the natural lines of the eyelids, the upper eyelids and below the lashes in the lower eyelid. Each approach towards the surgery depends on the specific patient and the plan decided upon after consultation. Follow up processes include removal of the stitches from 3-5 days after the blepharoplasty process, and specific medication to combat pain and swelling around the eyes.
The Blepharoplasty usually takes about 2-3 hours to complete depending on the specific amount of work being done in conjunction. The blepharoplasty is a very personalized procedure and involves several consultations before performing the procedure, as is the case with most cosmetic surgery.
